Paul Sloane | Control your email before it controls you and make room for creativity in your life.

How often do you check your email when you’re stumped with a creative project?  I check all the time in these situations, and it rarely helps anything.  (Although a piece of spam that snuck through did give me the idea for this blog.)  Paul suggests things like setting clear times to check emails.  This hasn’t worked for me (yet) but other things like “Your do-do list is more important than your email” are valuable.

I’ve also made a strong and reasonably successful effort to maintain inbox zero (Thanks Merlin Mann–he’s a great subject for a future post…) and that’s helped quite a bit.

Here’s Paul Sloane’s post on Make Email Your Servant (Not Your Master)
